Before ordering an auto adapter, check the voltage and amperage on the bottom of the laptop to make sure you are ordering the correct Auto adapter. The rating should be taken from the laptop, not the DC adapter because this is the best match of what the laptop needs. You should find a rating that looks like this: 19V --- 3.42A. It can be on the label on the bottom of the laptop or in the battery compartment. Car Adapters are safe to use within +/- 1V of the
laptop voltage. It is also safe to have a higher amperage than marked on the laptop because the laptop can only pull the amperage it needs. Less than the required amperage will cause damage to the power supply because the laptop is pulling more amperage than the travel adapter can give it. Also, check the DC Jack on the back of the laptop to make sure it is not loose. This will cause the laptop to appear like the auto adapter is bad when the laptop is just not making connection with power. For air adapters, keep in mind that the airplane power connector online puts out 75 watts of power. Check with the airline whether or not the plane you are flying on provides the airline tip at your seat.
