Prior to ordering an AC Adapter; verify the voltage and amperage rating of the laptop. The input voltage and amperage are usually listed on the bottom of the laptop on the ID label i.e. 19V 3.42A. Ensure that the amperage (A) rating of the AC Adapter is the same or higher than the rating of the laptop. The voltage (V) can be 1 volt higher or lower than the laptop voltage. Do not order an adapter that is rated with fewer amps than the laptop as serious damage can occur. It is a good idea to check the DC Jack on the side or back of the laptop to make sure that the jack has not come loose from the laptop. A loose DC Jack must be repaired and the laptop should not be used until the DC Jack has been replaced by a qualified repair center. We can replace the DC Jack for you if necessary.
